We would like to welcome you to the 2017 Texas School Ready Early Childhood Summer Institute!
Through partnership with the Texas Education Agency, Texas Workforce Commission, and Texas Association for the Education of Young Children, the Children’s Learning Institute hosts the TSR Institute each year as an exceptional professional development opportunity provided free of charge to Texas early childhood educators. The Institute is known for its unique combination of presentations by both national research experts and experienced, hands-on trainers and coaches. In addition to training in the very best research to practice methods, attendees have the opportunity to network with more than 1,000 professionals from every variety of early care setting.
For over a decade, the Children's Learning Institute at The University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) has implemented the Texas School Ready project as an early education approach that serves at-risk preschool-aged children through shared resources between public and private early childhood education programs. The design of Texas School Ready increases children's school readiness through five evidence-driven components: research-based curriculum, technology-driven child progress monitoring, facilitated teacher professional development, ongoing teacher mentoring, and program sustainability.
Folded into the professional development arm of the project, the TSR Institute was established in 2011 to bring together professionals from diverse communities under a common goal: advancing the quality of our early education through exposure to the best research-to-practice methods. All Texas early childhood educators and caregivers are welcome to register for the Institute, regardless of formal participation in the TSR project.
