Ready for School. Ready for Life
Texas School Ready is a comprehensive, research-based professional development program for early education teachers that ensures at-risk children receive targeted instruction in critical school readiness skills. Thousands of early childhood programs in Texas have implemented the program since 2003. As TSR has grown, researchers at the Children’s Learning Institute at UTHealth Houston have collected incredible data to track changes in teachers’ instructional practices and advancements in their students’ school readiness skills. The results of this research speak to the innovation and effectiveness of TSR.
TSR Comprehensive
TSR Comprehensive is a research-validated, three-year professional development program that provides high-intensity support to early education teachers in communities who need quality resources the most and individualized technical assistance. TSR Comprehensive is made possible by collaboration and partnership at state, regional, and local levels.
TSR Comprehensive aims to provide an effective, research-supported, early childhood classroom model that prepares at-risk children to enter kindergarten at or above grade level. Throughout the school year, educators enrolled in TSR Comprehensive are provided tools to help them learn more about the specific instructional needs of their classrooms and how to support children using engaging lessons and activities.

TSR Online
Starting in the 2015-2016 school year, all public school districts, public charter schools, Texas Rising Star certified providers, former Texas School Ready participants, and Head Start grantees in Texas can access TSR tools and resources at no cost. Programs that register for TSR Online will have access to free tools and resources, including professional development, a child progress monitoring system, classroom observation tools, and supplemental activities hosted on CLI’s digital resource platform, CLI Engage.
