TSR’s programs are the result of more than 20 years of research, implementation, and innovation of targeted interventions that prioritize school readiness for at-risk children in Texas.
The program executes this goal through a focus on research-based curriculum, classroom resources, technology-driven child progress monitoring, teacher/staff professional development with one-on-one coaching, and ongoing program evaluation.
Originally known as the Texas Early Education Model (TEEM), TSR has been made possible with combined grant funds from the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), National Institutes of Health (NIH), United States Department of Education (USDE), the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), and multiple philanthropic foundations. Texas School Ready serves children across diverse settings including public school programs, federal Head Start programs, and community-based child care (including for profit, nonprofit, faith-based, and federally subsidized settings). Our mission is to positively impact the early learning experiences and environments of our most academically at-risk children.
Texas School Ready is implemented across the state through three delivery models that vary by support level intensity, but all leverage TSR tools and resources hosted on our online platform CLI Engage. The platform serves as the backbone of TSR, delivering the program’s professional development courses, child progress monitoring tools, supplemental lessons, and more.
All public school districts, public charter schools, Texas Rising Star sites, Head Start grantees, and former Texas School Ready participants in Texas have access Texas School Ready tools and resources at no cost through TSR Online. Programs that register for TSR Online can access to TSR’s tools and resources at no cost. These tools and resources include our Circle Progress Monitoring System, eCircle Professional Development courses, Circle Activity Collection of classroom activities, and classroom observation tools. Visit CLI Engage to sign-up for free access to TSR’s online tools.
Public school districts and charter schools that would like additional support for their prekindergarten teachers can apply for those additional support services through a competitive application process for TSR ARC. Through funding from the Texas Education Agency, CLI will provide the necessary training and materials included as part of these additional support services at no cost, but CLI does not reimburse public school districts or charter schools for the time or expense incurred to receive these services. Note: TSR ARC may not be implemented each year.
TSR Comprehensive is the research validated, three-year professional development program that provides high-intensity support to early education teachers in communities that are most in need of quality resources and individualized technical assistance. TSR Comprehensive is made possible by collaboration and partnership at state, regional, and local levels.
Local community organizations can apply to be TSR Comprehensive Lead Agents for the signature three-year TSR Comprehensive program, our most intensive model. TSR Comprehensive includes all of the TSR Online content on CLI Engage, coaching (face-to-face or remote), three years of professional development, and classroom materials. Specific eligibility applies for early childhood program participation in TSR Comprehensive.
